A todos vós prometemos máximo empenho e dedicação. Lutaremos com todas as forças para que a participação seja digna.
Mais detalhes serão divulgados em breve.

Comunicação do piloto Manuel Pedro Fernandes

Manuel Fernandes will go from European Touring Car Cup winner to WTCC rookie when he contests his home round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Vila Real, Portugal next week (23-25 June).

Fernandes won the inaugural ETCC Race of Vila Real on the challenging street track in the northern Portugal city where he lives last June, but will step up to the big brother WTCC in a third RC Motorsport entry when the championship makes its third visit there later this month.

He will partner season rookies Yann Ehrlacher and Kevin Gleason in RC Motorsport’s exciting line-up, which expands to a three-car operation for the first time.

And his inclusion on the expanded WTCC grid means local fans will have two Portuguese drivers to support this year with Tiago Monteiro, the 2016 WTCC Race of Portugal winner, heading the charge for the factory Honda team as he bids to wrestle back the championship lead.

“I’m really excited,” said Fernandes, who began competing in single seaters and has enjoyed recent success in the Abarth Trophy series. “I missed the opportunity to do this race two years ago but I knew inside that one day if I had another chance to participate I wouldn’t let it go. This is the opportunity to do one thing that I love in a no-pressure environment. My preparation will be on the racing weekend only but it’s my city, a track that I know very well and with no need to get any results. It’s important I enjoy this as much as possible.”

François Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Manuel, a second Portuguese driver of course, to the WTCC family for his home race. Manuel is a driver with considerable experience and ability. He’s well aware of the level of the WTCC and the drivers but he’s approaching this opportunity in a very sensible way, he has a good team around him and we wish him well.”

WTCC Race of Portugal first took place in 2007 with Vila Real entering the fray in 2015. A circuit oozing history and intrigue, racing has been held on the hillside roads of the city since 1931, when Gaspar Sameiro and Ercilio Barbosa conquered the original 7.150-kilometre course in a Ford Model A. The current 4.785-kilometre layout is a challenging blend of turns, climbs and descents and is dubbed the Nürburgring Nordschleife of the South. While chicanes have been installed for safety reasons, the spectacle remains unaltered with speeds nearing 240kph on the final downhill section.

New for 2017 is the inclusion of the ‘joker’ lap, a first for world championship motor racing. It will require drivers to take an alternative, longer, route once in the Opening Race and once in the Main Race to further spice up the street racing action.

WTCC Nordschleife

It´s coming this weekend. The most challenging and dangerous race of the world in the green hell! #tiagosworld18 #greenhell #nordschleife

Pois é, é já este fim de semana. A corrida mais desafiante e perigosa do mundo no Inferno Verde! #honda #thepowerofdreams

As corridas terão transmissão em directo no Eurosport no sábado pelas 10.15 e 11.15h.

Honda head to the legendary Nurburgring in Germany this weekend aiming to maintain their strong early-season form in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

The Race of Germany takes place on the daunting 25.9-kilometre Nordschleife; acknowledged as the most challenging circuit in Europe, and is certain to provide a monumental fight for victory and no margin for error.

Two wins and four podiums from the opening three rounds have allowed Portuguese racer Tiago Monteiro to open up a 38-point lead in the Drivers’ Championship.

He is aiming to add to the podium finish he achieved at the Nurburgring in 2015 in a bid to preserve his advantage.

His Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team-mate Norbert Michelisz plans to bounce back from two frustrating weekends in which he has been denied potential race wins have been due to early-race incidents that were no fault of his own.

The Hungarian, who is eighth in the points, scored a double podium last year and is looking for a repeat as he climbs back up the championship table in Saturday’s races.

Fellow factory driver Ryo Michigami will make his first race appearance on the Nordschleife this weekend. The experienced Japanese racer visited the circuit last week to gain experience of the 170-corner layout in a road-going Honda Civic Type R.

The team will use the weekend to pay tribute to Honda World Superbike rider and former MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden, who tragically died this week.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. The improvements made to the Honda during the winter have paid off at every circuit we’ve visited and we have a faster car that performs better with compensation weight than ever before. The Nurburgring has a series of unique challenges with lots of high-speed corners blending into one another, big kerbs and a very long straight to end the lap, so you need to have a car that’s strong in all areas if you’re going to do well.”

Norbert Michelisz

“I’ve had some bad luck in the past two rounds, but I know that this weekend is a big opportunity to get back into the battle for the Championship. The Nurburgring is an enormous challenge, but one the Honda should be suited to because of its excellent handling and improved straightline speed. Last year I finished on the podium twice, so it’s definitely possible to make up some positions from your starting place if your car is well set-up for race conditions.”

Ryo Michigami

“The Nurburgring is an incredible circuit – one of the most iconic in the world – and not like anything I’ve raced on before. Hundreds of thousands of fans visit this event every year so I’m expecting an incredible atmosphere and some great racing. I spent a couple of days there last week doing track days in a Honda Civic Type R road car, but with so many corners, it’s a big challenge to memorise the layout. The double finish in Hungary was a step in the right direction for me and the aim is to improve our pace in qualifying and the races.”

Free practice 1 flash! ⤵️
Michelisz Norbert went quickest in Free Practice 1 at FIA WTCC Race of Germany this evening, holding on during a dramatic moment near the end of the 60-minute session on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Michelisz’s 8m43.255s was 0.819s faster than testing pacesetter Rob Huff but the Honda Racing WTCC driver ended up parked on the side of the track with a reported front-right puncture, having narrowly avoided striking barriers when he briefly went off.

Nicky Catsburg topped Free Practice 2 at FIA WTCC Race of Germany on Friday morning, lapping underneath the qualifying record on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The Volvo Cyan Racing driver achieved an 8m34.813s at the end of the 60-minute session, going more than two seconds faster than Norbert Michelisz had managed just a short moment earlier. The Dutchman seemed to be pushing hard throughout, filling the front of his Volvo Polestar with grass after one off-track moment. His time bettered the 8m35.541s of champion José María López in qualifying last year.

Honda’s Michelisz, the pace-setter in Free Practice 1 on Thursday, was a similar gap in front of third-placed Citroën driver Rob Huff, who had sat quickest prior to the chequered flag.

Catsburg’s team-mate Thed Björk took fourth, while Nordschleife newcomer Esteban Guerrieri went fifth late on and was second to Huff in WTCC Trophy.

World Touring Car Championship leader Tiago Monteiro was sixth in front of Tom Chilton, Nestor Girolami, Tom Coronel and Mehdi Bennani.

Yann Ehrlacher returned to action following his heavy crash in Free Practice 1, after his RC Motorsport team worked overnight to repair the car to enable the young Frenchman to get some laps in before qualifying, which will start at 12h45 local time

Argentinian duo and Nürburgring Nordschleife rookies Néstor Girolami and Esteban Guerrieri will share the front row of the grid for the Opening Race at FIA WTCC Race of Germany.

The pair swapped positions at the end of qualifying when Guerrieri improved his lap to go ninth quickest. That put Girolami 10th and on provisional pole for the Opening Race, and the Volvo Polestar driver was able to keep hold of the position.

He will hope to join Guerrieri as a World Touring Car Championship race-winner in the first of Saturday’s races on the legendary German track at 11h20 local time.

Mehdi Bennani and Tom Coronel will share the second row of the grid, with Tom Chilton and Thed Björk on row three.

WTCC MAC3 flash: Volvo Polestar on top over a tense lap of the Nordschleife

26/05/2017 14:55

Team Volvo Polestar scored its third Manufacturers Against the Clock team time trial win of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship over a lap of the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife.

On the mammoth 25.378-kilometre circuit, WTCC MAC3 is contested over only one lap instead of the usual two, but it was not without drama for either competing team.

In the Volvo contingent, Nicky Catsburg suffered from a bad vibration on his car, but the Polestar Cyan Racing trio, which also included Néstor Girolami and Thed Björk, were still able to triumph.

For Team Honda, Tiago Monteiro carried a damper problem that he suffered at the end of the qualifying session, leaving him wary of using the kerbs as he chased Ryo Michigami and Norbert Michelisz around the track.

The 12 points gained allows Volvo Polestar to add to its narrow manufacturers’ championship lead over Honda, which scored eight points.

Michelisz takes pole for Honda in Germany

WTCC Race of Germany

Nürburgring Nordschleife, Germany

Honda claimed a second pole position of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship season thanks to a sensational late effort from Norbert Michelisz at the legendary Nurburgring in Germany.

The Hungarian, who began the day eighth in the Drivers’ Championship, had set top-two times in all of Thursday and Friday’s running ahead of qualifying, and then blasted around the 170-corner track, known as ‘Green Hell’ over half a second faster than anybody else in his Civic WTCC.

It was Norbert’s first pole position of the year and the fourth of his WTCC career.

His Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team-mate Tiago Monteiro, who leads the Drivers’ points standings, lapped at a similar pace to Michelisz throughout the session and looked set for an attempt at pole himself, only to suffer a damper issue on his final flying lap.

The Portuguese driver qualified fourth for the Main Race, which ensures he starts seventh for the reversed-grid Opening Race on Saturday with Norbert 10th.

Ryo Michigami, who is racing on the 15-mile Nordschleife for the first time this weekend, made strong progress throughout practice and qualifying.

More than halving the gap to the pace-setters from Thursday onwards, the Japanese driver equalled his best starting spot of the season in 11th place and will start there in both races after an impressive effort.

After qualifying, the fourth MAC3 session of the year took place with the Honda trio finishing second overall

Sunday’s Opening Race takes place at 1120 with the Main Race at 1245.

“I’m super happy with the result today. It’s a great feeling to get my first pole as a factory Honda driver. Even from the first lap of practice this morning, I had a lot of confidence with the Civic. We’d been fast yesterday and it was really just a case of fine-tuning what we had and maximising the performance in this afternoon’s warm temperatures. To come to a track that shouldn’t, on paper, suit us, and then take pole is absolutely fantastic and I have to thank the team for their great work. Tomorrow the aim is to win the Main Race; nothing less.”

“Firstly a huge congratulations to Norbi, who has done a fantastic job all weekend and deserves his pole position. I’m pretty happy with my speed in qualifying. I wasn’t particularly confident with the way my car felt in practice, but the team worked hard to tweak the set-up and with new tyres we were very fast this afternoon. The fight for pole was very close between four of us, but I had a damper issue on my last lap which means I qualified fourth. I don’t have a target for the races, but if there’s a good chance for a win or a podium, I’ll be sure to take it.”

Ryo Michigami

“This weekend has been a big learning experience for me because this is such a difficult circuit not only to drive, but to get the set-up right for. I seem to be in the fight for P10 and the reversed-grid pole position almost every weekend and we’re not far away from breaking through, which would be a great result for the team. Today we were good enough for P11 and that puts me in a good position to fight for points tomorrow in both races.”

“I’m very pleased for Norbi and his engineers, who have worked very hard to regroup after Hungary and have been rewarded very well with Norbi’s first pole position for us in what was the most exciting qualifying session for a long time, in my opinion. He has a very good chance to win tomorrow. I believe Tiago could have joined him on the front row if he hadn’t had the damper issue on his last lap in qualifying, but again his engineers have worked very well to improve the speed of his car throughout the weekend. Ryo has also shown improved pace as well, which is very pleasing, considering he’s never raced here before.”

“Today we’ve worked very hard and had a strong result with pole position for Norbi. I’m a little disappointed it wasn’t an all-Honda front row because I think without Tiago’s issue, I think it was possible. Ryo is also knocking on the door of the top 10, and if he can keep up his progress, we can start getting poles for the Opening Race as well as the Main Race. Tomorrow our aim is to win the Main Race and maximise the points possibilities in the Opening Race.”

Honda Racing WTCC takes its first WTCC MAC3 victory of 2017!

Honda claimed victory in the third MAC3 session of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship while Tiago Monteiro secured a front-row grid spot at the Hungaroring.

The three-car crew of Ryo Michigami, Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz completed the fastest team time trial at the 2.7-mile circuit near Budapest, emerging on top by nearly four seconds.

Tiago’s ninth-fastest time in qualifying ensures that the Championship leader will start from second place in the reversed-grid Opening Race with a great chance to add to the three podiums he’s taken from the opening four races this season.

His Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team-mate Norbert Michelisz, who is racing in front of his home crowd this weekend, was the fastest of the three Honda Civic WTCCs in the session, which began on a damp track.

His sixth-quickest time in Q2 was agonisingly close to giving the Hungarian hero a spot in Q3, but just fell short.

Norbert, a two-time WTCC race winner in his homeland, will start the Opening Race from fifth spot.

Ryo Michigami showed top-five pace in a wet second practice session, but just missed out on a top-10 grid spot. He qualified 12th for the Main Race and will start the Opening Race from 11th.

Sunday’s Opening Race begins at 1235 with the Main Race following at 1345.

“On the positive side, I’m on the front row for the Opening Race, which gives me a great chance to increase my Championship lead. P9 isn’t where I expected to be on speed, but the Honda is running maximum compensation weight and in qualifying – the first time we’ve had a dry track all weekend – you can really feel this having an effect on the car. We’ll work out where we can improve things from tomorrow and then attack.”

Castrol Honda WTCC

“I’m P6 and with 80kg on board, I think it was a fairly decent lap; I doubt I could have been more than a tenth of a second faster today. P6 and P5 puts me in a situation where I can potentially be in the podium positions just by starting well in both races. I’m sure we can find a little bit of extra speed in the car overnight and challenge for the top three.”

Castrol Honda WTCC
Ryo Michigami

Ryo Michigami 34

“I’m very happy to be a part of a MAC3-winning team for the first time since I joined the WTCC. It’s a very satisfying feeling. But qualifying was tough and I needed a fast lap at the end to make Q2. My best lap in Q2 featured a good sector one and sector two, but sector three was not so good and we need to investigate why. I’m just outside the top 10, so I have a good chance to score some points tomorrow. This is my target.”

“It’s been a very good day and I’m delighted to have my second win of the year. From second on the grid, the target was to take the victory and we’ve done this, despite carrying 80kg of compensation weight. It’s a nice points advantage to have so early in the season, but we’ve seen from what’s happened to Norbi at the past two races that you can lose big points very easily through no fault of your own. It’s very important to keep building on this at the next few rounds.”

Honda driver Tiago Monteiro doubled his lead of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship with a hard-fought double podium finish at Monza in Italy.

The Portuguese driver charged from ninth on the reversed-grid Opening Race to an impressive third place, his Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team Civic showing impressive straightline speed throughout.

He then added a second-place finish in the Main Race to increase his series advantage from seven points to 15 and score the 40th podium of his WTCC career.

Tiago’s team-mate Norbert Michelisz made a sensational start from fifth on the Opening Race grid to climb into the top three and was challenging for the lead by one-third distance.

Unfortunately for the Hungarian, his race ended thanks to a poorly-executed defence of the lead by Mehdi Bennani at Parabolica, which resulted in significant damage to Norbert’s left-rear suspension and a left-front puncture, caused by an immediate trip into the gravel.

Norbert’s mechanics worked tirelessly during Repair Time to fix his car in time for the Main Race, and he rewarded them with a deserved sixth-placed finish, which put him fourth in the Drivers’ points and kept Honda within a handful of points of the WTCC Manufacturers’ Championship lead.

Fellow factory driver Ryo Michigami was less fortunate. He failed to start the Opening Race after due to a misfire on the formation lap, and suffered a similar issue early in the Main Race, despite the sterling efforts of his engineers to get the Japanese driver onto the grid.

Tiago Monteiro 18

“To score two podiums and increase my championship lead at a track like Monza is pretty amazing. We’ve never been that strong on high-speed circuits like this, but the latest evolution of the car is fantastic and this is a huge motivating factor for everybody because it shows we can be competitive everywhere. After we had such pace in the Opening Race, I was confident I could win the Main Race, but I made a small mistake coming out of the Ascari chicane and Thed [Bjork] was able to pass me.”

Ryo Michigami 34

“It’s quite disappointing to leave Monza without scoring a point, especially after we showed strong pace in practice. I had a misfire and wasn’t able to start the Opening Race. The team did a great job to get me out in the Main Race, but again we weren’t able to make the finish because of a similar issue. Without this, I’m sure I could have easily finished in the points in both races, because the straightline speed and the balance in the corners was very good.”

Ryuichi Furukawa

Large Project Leader WTCC Development, Honda R&D

“A tough day because the pace we showed in both races meant we thought we could get at least one win. I think we would have won the Opening Race with Norbi, but for his incident with Bennani and Tiago was also very close in the Main Race. Ryo had top-10 pace too, but had some unfortunate technical issues, which we will go away and analyse ahead of the next race in Hungary. We have still managed to score good points at a circuit we’ve never done very well at before, so it’s OK.”

Honda claimed the first pole position of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship thanks to a stunning performance in qualifying from Tiago Monteiro in Morocco.

Tiago had set the pace in opening practice and then again in the second section of qualifying. With the pressure on, he smashed the official pole position record at the Circuit Moulay el Hassan in Marrakech in 1m21.792s to take the top spot.

It was the seventh pole position for the Honda Civic WTCC and the fourth of Tiago’s career; the Portuguese driver receiving five bonus points for his World Championship campaign for his achievement.

His Castrol Honda World Touring Car team-mate Norbert Michelisz recovered well to set the pace in FP2 after missing the opening session due to a minor oil leak. After setting the pace in Q1, his Q3 lap was good enough for a strong third place on the grid.

Ryo Michigami, who becomes a full-time WTCC driver this year, made a sensational last-gasp effort in Q2 to elevate himself from 11th to ninth spot on his final lap.

Not only was this the best qualifying result ever achieved by a Japanese driver in the WTCC, it also put Ryo on the front row for Sunday’s reversed-grid Opening Race. Norbert and Tiago start the opener from eighth and 10th respectively.

The Opening Race takes place at 1635 while the Main Race will start at 1745.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Ryo’s qualifying times were cancelled after he mistakenly did not stop for a weight check when instructed. He will start both races from the back of the grid as a result.

58e359590d533-320x320.jpg

“This is exactly what we needed. As a team we’ve worked incredibly hard over the winter to develop the Civic. We knew that we’d made progress, but you still have to show it, in front of everyone else, to prove that the progress is real. Norbi was very fast all day, so I knew I had to set a very good laptime to get pole, but I did and this is the result. I was pretty happy with my lap and to have pole for the first Main Race of the year feels fantastic. On a street track pole position is a bigger advantage than normal because it’s so difficult to overtake, so I’m aiming to make the most of it.”

58e359fc30f53-320x320.jpg

“Today is a tremendous team result and we have to be happy with that. Personally, I’m a little disappointed to only qualify third because Tiago showed that the car was capable of pole position. I didn’t have the confidence on my Q3 lap to push to the absolute limit, so I don’t think I could have matched Tiago’s time no matter the circumstance. I missed all of FP1 with a small issue, but I honestly don’t know if missing 45 minutes of track time made a difference. I’m confident of scoring big points tomorrow.”

58e35a68b9a13-320x320.jpg

“I’m pretty pleased with the way qualifying turned out. Ninth is OK for my first time on this circuit and second for the reversed-grid race gives me an excellent opportunity to win – which is my aim. I have to thank my engineer Nicola, who made a great decision to change the tyre pressures right at the end of Q2, which helped unlock an extra bit of speed and got me up into a very important P9. Unfortunately my times were cancelled because of a mistake in the pits, but tomorrow I'll see what I can achieve.”

The 2 FIA WTCC pole men for Marrakech Grand Prix. 👊🏼🙈👍 Race 1 me and race 2 Tiago Monteiro lets go get those 🏆🏆 trophies!

Tiago Monteiro ganha a corrida principal do WTCC em Marrocos e lidera um Mundial FIA (tal como no ano passado, mas acabou desclassificado).

“It’s a fantastic feeling for myself and the whole team to win the first Main Race of the season and be leading the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships. Overtaking is always tough on street circuits, so taking pole position yesterday was more than 50 per cent of the job. I made a good start, had to be very careful with my pace to make sure I didn’t over-work the brakes or the tyres on a very hot day, and took the chequered flag. To head Norbi home in a one-two finish for the team is great.”

Tiago Monteiro

58ea90e107809.jpg

“Today is a great result for the team and I have to congratulate Tiago on his win. Today’s result was all down to my start. I made a good getaway and made it up to P2 by the first corner. It got pretty close with a few other cars through Turn One, but after that, I was confident of holding my place because it’s very hard to overtake here and my Honda has been fantastic all weekend. This is a strong start to my season.”

Norbert Michelisz

58ea911c8f6f2.jpg

“It was a mixed day for me. I’m disappointed to have been taken out of the Opening Race after I’d made a very good start and made up a couple of positions. My rear suspension was broken, but because it happened early on, my mechanics a chance to get the car fixed properly before the Main Race. Scoring a point was a good result, but I need to continue to work on my race pace at the coming events. I’m sure this will come as my experience of the WTCC increases.”

Ryo Michigami

Honda took an early lead of the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship with a dominant one-two finish in Morocco from Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz.

Tiago started the Main Race from pole position and drove an inch-perfect race on the Circuit Moulay el Hassan in Marrakech; the Portuguese leading every lap to win by less than a second from his Castrol Honda World Touring Car Team-mate.

It was Tiago’s 10th WTCC victory and gave him a seven-point advantage over Norbert in the Drivers’ Championship.

Hungarian Norbert, who secured his 32nd podium in the series, had earlier finished fifth in the Opening Race; one place ahead of his team-mate.

Honda, who now have 15 WTCC victories, lead the Manufacturers’ points race.

Fellow factory driver Ryo Michigami, who was racing in Morocco for the first time, secured his first WTCC point with 10th place in the Main Race in his Honda Racing Team JAS Civic.

The Japanese driver had been on course for a similar finish in the Opening Race after making a superb start. Unfortunately contact from a rival driver bent his left-rear suspension, forcing him to retire in the pits.

The next round of the WTCC takes place at the historic Monza circuit in Italy on April 22-23.

Sziasztok!

Véget ért a marokkói hétvége.

17799287_1668566006493728_4870371116286068832_n.jp

Race2: A srácok óriási bravúrt végrehajtva megjavították az autót, rajt a boxból. Az autó sajnos jobban sérült, mint gondoltuk, így csak a verseny befejezése lehetett a cél.

Óriási köszönet a Zengő Motorsport összes szerelőinek, kivételes munkát végeztek a hétvége folyamán!

OSCARO expands WTCC activation with WTCC Race of Italy naming sponsorship

OSCARO expands WTCC activation with WTCC Race of Italy naming sponsorship

OSCARO, the world’s leading online retailer of original auto spare parts, has increased its involvement with the FIA World Touring Car Championship by signing as the Event Presenting Partner of WTCC Race of Italy, the second event of the eagerly-anticipated 2017 season.

In addition to its name being included in the official event title, OSCARO will benefit from significant trackside branding plus numerous promotional opportunities, including live international television coverage and local advertising.

Thanks to this agreement, OSCARO will offer fans the opportunity to download free tickets to the race weekend through an online application process from 15 March available at OSCARO.it, the company’s Italian website, launched to announce the arrival of OSCARO in the Italian market.

OSCARO is entering its second year as an Official Series Partner of the WTCC and supports Repair Time, the period between the Opening Race and Main Race when teams have just 20 minutes to carry out essential repairs and ready cars for the on-track action ahead.

The company has also renewed its sponsorship of WTCC racer John Filippi, who will form part of the three-strong Sébastien Loeb Racing team.

François Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter, said: “OSCARO has been an enthusiastic partner from the outset and its decision to use the WTCC to promote its operations in Italy, a new market for the company, is further proof of the benefits a partnership with the World Touring Car Championship can bring. It’s also a great opportunity for Italian fans to access the event in the best possible conditions.”

Pierre-Noël Luiggi, CEO of OSCARO, said: “We are proud to strengthen our relationship with the WTCC by becoming the Event Presenting Partner of the FIA WTCC Race of Italy. We are excited to bring our know-how in technology and passion to Italians, and we are pleased to combine this to invite fans and future customers to the legendary Monza circuit for what will be a great event.”

FIA WTCC OSCARO Race of Italy takes place at Monza, near Milan, from 28-30 April and marks the return of the world championship to Italy for the first time since 2013, when Yvan Muller won twice at the legendary Italian Grand Prix venue.
